project details

Woven Hose Restaurant

Cambridge, MA

Cambridge's Kendall Square, once a busy manufacturing center with block-long factories turning out a range of industrial and consumer products, has seen a rebirth in the last quarter century as a center of the high-tech and biotech industries. Reusing space in a converted mill building, this adapative reuse involves design of a new 3,050 sf restaurant and catering kitchen. The cafe has independent kitchens for catering and baking, an open dining area for 125 people and an outdoor dining patio. Existing granite and brick walls were left exposed; the wood floor blends in with the existing wood columns, ceiling and beams.
