The College of Management at UMass Lowell, the UMass campus known for its science and technology in manufacturing programs, is outgrowing its cramped space in one of the University’s older academic buildings. In order to raise the college’s visibility, develop teaching and administrative spaces that better meet the college’s mission, and foster interdepartmental collaboration, the university hired HMFH and Dober Lidsky Mathey to conduct a master plan.
The study effort includes a needs analysis and preparation of a space program for current needs and future growth, analysis of possible sites and site planning criteria on UMASS Lowell’s North Campus, and preparation of several options for short- and long-term build-out for a new, dedicated College of Management building. Cost estimates, massing studies and other fundraising and advancement materials are included in the four month master plan effort.
