| HMFH designed a new K-8 facility
to replace an inadequate 1950s structure deemed too small to accommodate the projected
school population. The new three-story, 90,000 sf building houses 760 students
in grades K-8, clustering primary grades on the first floor; elementary on the
second floor; and middle school on the upper floor.
The elementary and
middle grades share several specialized classrooms, such as science/technology,
computer/math, a language laboratory, and computer classroom. The school also
features art and music classrooms and a media center. The first-floor gymnasium
and cafetorium, which can open into one large space, are designed to accommodate
community access during non-school hours. Similarly, because the school serves
the surrounding community, outdoor play areas include extensive basketball and
tennis courts. | Choose
