This project consists of two new identical elementary schools with identical educational programs. The new schools are located on sites adjacent to existing schools, creating PreK-8 campus environments.

The program for the building called for housing 450 students in grades Pre-K through 4 with 15 full-sized classrooms, three special education rooms, art, music and science rooms, an IMC, gym and cafetorium. The program also required a plan that clustered by grade level and provided equal access to shared facilities for the entire school population.

As magnet schools, the two facilities are thematically different: the core of the Shaughnessy School's program is Humanities; the Bailey has an International focus. Prototypical components were adapted to different site conditions and the differing themes.
