HMFH has designed renovations and additions to Boston Latin School, the academic jewel of the City's public school system. The new construction accommodates the school's extensive arts program and includes visual arts studios, gallery space, and rehearsal and performance rooms for the music program. A new, fully accessible main entrance was incorporated into the addition and it serves as the primary student entry, encompassing large gathering areas on the interior and exterior of the building, and connecting the main lobby to the new dining commons.

The old cafeteria and kitchen in the original building have been transformed into a new Library/Media Center. This 12,500-sf facility is wired to accommodate student laptops at specially designed work areas throughout. The Media Center features a double-height reading room with wood bookcases and individual task lights at each of the study tables, an adjacent periodicals room in a former light well, and small seminar rooms and computer labs for research and instruction.
