The addition to this 25-year-old school includes a new academic wing of 24 standard classrooms, five computer labs, a physical education room, and an office facility to accommodate the extensive community school program that runs from 5:30 am until 11:00 pm. It is linked to the existing school by a large, multi-story entry lobby, which functions as the hub of the school, serving academic as well as public spaces.

The existing building, constructed in 1976, was designed for open classrooms with many of the rooms windowless and triangular in shape. The renovations reconfigured classrooms into standard shapes more conducive to learning and also include permanent partitions between classrooms. Six science labs were added to the program by renovating existing classroom space. Other renovations included the library facilities, the gym/locker/pool areas, and the existing 950-seat auditorium. The heating plant was redesigned to replace the inefficient, all-electric system.
