Nestled between a tidal bog and an estuary, this new high school has integrated high technology into each classroom while maintaining a focus on the daily needs of its young users. Natural light pours into a carefully planned, informal meeting area, and quiet spaces are clearly defined for reading or research. Stepped, two-way computer labs create flexible spaces for a multitude of teaching approaches.

With classrooms on the upper floor, the interior street below opens into specialized and shared facilities, including a 400-seat auditorium, a media center, a computer class, vocational arts classrooms, and a gym with 1000 seats. This clear separation of facilities allows for round-the-clock community use without compromising academic areas.
