City of Cambridge and HMFH Architects Complete Emergency Housing Residence
HMFH and the Cambridge Health and Human Services Department recently converted a historic 1880s residence into ten units of emergency housing for women and children. The team worked with the Cambridge Historic Commission to replicate key original components of the historic building while also making the building more efficient in order to meet the City of Cambridge’s sustainability goals. The Cambridge Historic Commission honored the project and the city with a 2018 Cambridge Preservation Award.
