HMFH Architects
International Women's Day at the BSA Space
As part of a celebration of International Women’s Day, HMFH and fellow members of the Boston Society of Architects’ Women in Design community took part in Each One Makes at the BSA Space. Each participating firm developed a unique, hands-on design activity for children ages 5–14. HMFH’s fun and flexible kit of parts—brought to life with the help of our co-op intern, Soha Mohammed-Eltaher—gave participating kids the opportunity to imagine, create, and take home their very own playground model. Laura Wernick, Sara Rosenthal, Andrea Yoder, and Alexandra Gadawski conceptualized and designed this activity and had fun taking part on Sunday afternoon.
The day of making followed Thursday evening’s opening reception of IMPACT: Inspired and Inspiring—Women in Design Award of Excellence 20th Anniversary. Each honoree contributed commemorative exhibits. Laura Wernick, the 2014 Award of Excellence recipient, was represented by a three-dimensional display showcasing a career spent designing spaces in support of learning.
The exhibit is on view at the BSA Space until April 5, 2020.
