Weymouth Community Gets a First Look at New Chapman Middle School
Many gathered at Chapman Middle School in Weymouth, MA for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the project’s substantial completion. When doors officially open this fall, the new school will become an invaluable resource for Weymouth students and community members.
Many are saying this is a game changer for Weymouth students and education, and I truly believe it is. The opportunities are endless for what can go on in this school.
The ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Chapman Middle School drew impressive crowds of students, parents, faculty, town officials, and community members, eager to celebrate this important milestone and experience the school’s innovative learning spaces for the first time. Speakers including the Mayor of Weymouth, the Chair of the School Committee, and the Chapman Middle School principal shared sentiments from their time working on the project and of the incredible impact this school will have on the Weymouth community. The ceremony took place in the school’s “Town Square”, a central dining commons that unites the three academic wings in a double-height, light-filled core. In this space, community members experienced first-hand the unique, educationally driven architecture designed to inspire and support Weymouth students for years to come.
