Wellesley needed an expedited relocation of its preschool program, previously located in a middle school facility slated for demolition. Due to the schedule of five months for design and construction, the building is comprised of 18 pre-fabricated modules and contains the required six classrooms and various administrative, breakout and support spaces. The modules were custom designed with colorful walls and flooring as well as high performance windows, sunscreens, and wall systems that exceed code requirements. Special features like a brightly painted entrance canopy and no-maintenance metal siding are included on the exterior to highlight and identify this new building.
