Bard College Conceptual
Design for Student Housing

HMFH completed a conceptual design for four 50-student houses and an adjacent 24-hour study center as part of the expansion of Bard College’s North Campus. The houses integrate the scale and materials of the Collegiate Gothic campus with modern details and light-filled interiors. A mix of traditional and suite-style rooms, with central study areas bring lower- and upper-classmen together and encourage community engagement. The study center defines the entry to North Campus and anchors the residential community within the overall campus context. The large central space and surrounding workspaces foster student collaboration and innovation.
