The Gordon School in East Providence, RI reached a critical juncture in its development.  The original, award-winning campus no longer served the changing needs of this Nursery-8 school. It is nestled into a beautiful 12-acre site within a suburban neighborhood and growth must be undertaken with extreme sensitivity to both the natural environment and the child-centric existing facilities.

HMFH developed a master plan for the school so that it may make the best use of available resources and appropriately accommodate growth.  Commencing with a programming effort involving a broad spectrum of the Gordon community, the issues and challenges raised through the effort transformed into a series of campus options exploring different opportunities for literally building upon the academic strengths of the school.
