Martha's Vineyard Regional High School
Oak Bluffs, MA
HMFH designed the additions and alterations to the existing 1957 Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School utilizing passive solar heating and daylighting technology in vocational education areas.
- Classrooms Added 10
- Grades 9-12
- Size 81,000 ft2
The renovation and addition added 10 classrooms, a vocational Culinary Arts kitchen and dining room and two large vocational workshops for Building Trades and Auto/Marine Mechanics and their support facilities. An important feature of this project is that the vocational education areas have been designed to utilize passive solar heating and daylighting technology. The project also included reroofing of the existing building and the removal of asbestos-containing acoustical plaster from existing wall and ceiling surfaces.
