McGlynn Elementary
and Middle School
In this school-within-a-school complex, PK-5 and 6-8 grade students occupy distinct wings and share core facilities, including administration, a cafeteria, library, and an auditorium. Classrooms line a gently curving corridor. The middle school wing is based on team clusters of four classrooms with a central science room.
The elementary wing is more compact, reinforcing the school-within-a-school feeling. It includes music, computer, and science rooms specifically designed for elementary use. An extensive playground and ball fields (shared with a second HMFH-designed middle school) complete the riverfront site and serve the community when school is not in session.
