Ribbon Cutting Marks a New Chapter for Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School
On July 22nd, 2026, the Bristol-Plymouth school community celebrated the opening of a new 423,500 sf facility with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The event brought together students, alumni, project partners, and state and local leaders, marking the completion of this transformative project.
The new Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School blends traditional academics with career technical education (CTE), offering a flexible, light-filled environment for 1,434 students enrolled in 22 CTE programs.
Speakers at the ceremony highlighted the exciting opportunities the new school will bring to both students and the surrounding community, from career technical spaces designed to evolve alongside technological and curricular advancements to expanded adult education programs. Following the remarks, guests toured the facility for a first-hand look at the innovative learning spaces.

HMFH’s design brings Bristol-Plymouth’s vision of integrated learning to life: career-based clusters are comprised of classrooms, career technical shops, labs, and breakout spaces to foster collaboration across related disciplines. A central courtyard anchors the school alongside a vibrant hub of shared spaces including the auditorium, cafeteria, media center, and gymnasium. Student-run programs including Culinary Arts, Cosmetology, Graphic Design, and Early Childhood Education are visible and accessible to visitors via a public-facing entry.
The building also demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability and student wellness. It is on track to achieve LEED Silver certification and served as the pilot project for a healthy materials research initiative in partnership with the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA), ensuring high standards for material health, circularity, and reduced carbon impact.
